‘Youth Soccer Festival’ Yeongdeok Football Festa kicks off on Nov. 11, with Chilgok FC sweeping first day of U-10-U-8 competition


The first day of the 2023 Yeongdeok Football Festival with soccer media specialist Best Eleven has begun.

Best Eleven and Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsangbuk-do, are hosting the 2023 Yeongdeok Football Festa for four days, from Nov. 11 to 14, around Yeongdeok-gun. The tournament is being held two days shorter than originally scheduled due to the impact of Typhoon Kanun, which was originally scheduled to kick off on the 9th. Despite the impact of the typhoon, young youth soccer players from across the country were able to enjoy the fun of soccer and spend time with their families at the Yeongdeok Football Festa.

The first day’s schedule featured qualifiers for each age group. In the U-12 competition, a four-team pool league, the Haeoreum FC A team won 12-0 against the Haeoreum FC B team. At 10 a.m. on the 11th at Gangugudaege B soccer field, Haeoreum FC A defeated Haeoreum FC B by 12 goals, led by four goals apiece from Jung Yoon-hoo and Kim Seung-ha, and evenly distributed goals from Lim Woo-hyuk, Lee Yoon-ho, and Choi Hyo-joon.

An hour later, in the second match of the U-12 tournament at the same venue, Respect FC defeated Seongju Youth FC 4-1. Respect FC defeated Seongju Youth FC behind three goals from Park Do-won in the first three minutes, 10th minute, and 15th minute, as well as a goal from Kang Goo-min in the 8th minute and a goal from Shin Ju-yong in the 14th minute. In the U-12 tournament, Haeoreum FC A team overtook Respect FC on goal difference and points to take the lead in the pool.

In the U-10 tournament, a seven-team pool league, Pohang SMFC started the tournament on a high note with a convincing win in their first game. The team scored a whopping 10 goals in the 9 a.m. match against Pohang Neo Junior at Daege A Stadium in Ganggu.

The Chilgok FC U-12s continued to build momentum with back-to-back wins in their two matches of the day. At 9:45 a.m., they cruised to a 6-0 victory over Jeonha FC at the same venue, followed by a 3-0 win over Yeongcheon Youth FC at 11:50. They also won 8-0 against Pohang Neo Juniors at 5 p.m., making it three straight wins on the first day of the tournament.안전놀이터

In the U-8 competition, where seven teams will compete in the tournament after the four- and three-team group stages, respectively, Chilgok FC made it two straight wins. Chilgok FC won 6-3 against FC Hoopo Avengers at 10 a.m. at the Ganggu Daege B soccer field 2, and followed that up with a convincing 8-3 win against Respect FC at 5 p.m. in the evening. Chilgok FC had a pleasant first day of Football Festa, with evenly matched results in the U-10 and U-8 competitions.
