‘Side injury’ Ohtani out of lineup for fourth straight game…”I’m not starting yet…”

Major League Baseball (MLB) player Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim has been sidelined due to an injury.

The Los Angeles Angels scratched Ohtani from the starting lineup for their home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday (Aug. 8) at Angels Stadium in Los Angeles, California. It was the fourth straight game without him.

Previously, Ohtani had been sidelined for four days after feeling pain in his side during batting practice on May 5.

Ohtani’s injury isn’t the only one. On August 24, he started a game against the Cincinnati Reds and left the mound with arm fatigue.

The team later announced that Ohtani had damaged ligaments in his elbow and would not pitch for the rest of the season.

After failing to hit a home run in 10 consecutive games, including his 44th of the season, Ohtani fell behind Matt Olson (46 homers, Atlanta Braves) for the lead.

“His movement and swing have improved, but it’s still not good enough to start,” Angels manager Phil Nevin said, adding that he expects him to return in the next day or two.메이저사이트

Meanwhile, Ohtani went 10-5 with a 3.14 ERA as a pitcher this year, and he also had a stellar year as a hitter, batting .304 (151-for-497) with 44 home runs and a 1.066 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage).
