Rugby 15s runner-up at Asia Championship…loses final to Hong Kong


The South Korean national 15s rugby team finished as runners-up at the 2023 Asia Rugby Championship, a tournament between Asian nations.

According to the Korea Rugby Union, the team led by coach Lee Myung-geun lost the title to Hong Kong 10-30 in the final match of the tournament at the Hong Kong Football Club Stadium in Hong Kong yesterday (Nov. 17).

The championship, which lasted a total of 80 minutes in the first and second halves, featured three teams, including Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia.토토사이트

The national team, which had defeated Malaysia 27-3 on the third day, lost to Hong Kong for the second time in two weeks, finishing with one win and one loss, falling behind the two-time champions.

The tournament, organized by the Asian Rugby Union, has been played as the Asian Rugby Championship since 1969 before changing to its current name in 2015.

Korea has won the Asian Rugby Championship five times in its predecessor, starting in 1982 and continuing through 1986, 1988, 1990, and 2002.
