LG Twins manager Yoon Kyung-yeop thanked Kim Min-sung, 35, for his performance in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) after he was sidelined with an injury.
Kim Min-sung was scratched from the first-team roster for the first time this year ahead of a 6:30 p.m. game against the KT Wiz at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.
He started the last five games as the seventh batter and second baseman, but was replaced at the start of the fourth inning after complaining of pain in his anterior left thigh.
Kim has been playing solid defense at various positions, including shortstop, second base, and third base, while also contributing offensively. In 70 games this year, he batted .288 with four home runs and 31 RBIs, and was even more focused in scoring position with a .293 batting average.
At the beginning of the season, LG was hit by the departure of starting shortstop Oh Ji-hwan, but Kim Min-seong was able to fill the void.안전놀이터
“When I had a hard time with injuries in April, Min-sung covered me perfectly,” said LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop, adding, “He’s been playing a lot, and he died a long death.”
Meanwhile, LG is currently in first place with 47 wins and 28 losses and a winning percentage of 0.627.
