The South Korean national archery team has finished first overall at the second edition of the Hyundai Archery World Cup 2023.

According to the Korea Archery Federation (KAF), the team swept five gold, four silver, and two bronze medals to finish first overall at the event, which took place in Shanghai, China, from Nov. 16-21.

The tournament was held to determine the finalists for the 2023 Modern Archery World Cup in September. A total of 297 athletes from 40 countries competed in the event.

The women’s team of Lim, An, and Kang took home the gold in the team final with a 6-0 sweep of Chinese Taipei.

Im made it a two-peat, winning gold in the women’s individual event as well. She was followed by Kang Chae-young and An An.

The men’s recurve team of Kim Woo-jin, Lee Woo-seok, and Kim Jeduk also defeated China 6-2 in the team event. Oh Jin-hyuk won the silver medal in the men’s individual final, falling 4-6 to world No. 1 Dow Meida.

In the recurve mixed team event, Kang Chae-young and Lee Woo-seok secured a 6-2 victory over China in the final. Kang Chae-young also won two gold and one silver medal at the tournament.

In the women’s compound, Cho Soo-ah won the individual gold medal with a 146-140 victory over Ella Gibson (Great Britain).

The women’s compound team of Oh Yoo-hyun, So Chae-won, and Song Yoon-soo took home silver after falling to Mexico 226-223 in the final.

Yang Jae-won won bronze in the men’s compound individual event, while Oh Yoo-hyun and Kim Jong-ho won silver in the mixed team event.스포츠토토

The team will return home on the 22nd to prepare for the 2023 World Championships in Berlin, where qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is at stake.

To that end, the Korean Archery Federation will hold a four-day special match against members of the national standing army on a special stage at the Jincheon Athletes’ Village Archery Range from Aug. 28-31.
