It was the deciding match (best-of-five) in the taebaek jangsa (under 80 kg) at the Withers Pharmaceutical 2023 Chuseok Jangsa Wrestling Tournament at Suwon Gymnasium in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, on Nov. 15. Yoon Pil-jae won the bull trophy with a close 3-2 victory over Heo Sun-haeng (Suwon City Hall).

It was the first time in three years that Yoon regained the top spot in the event after winning three consecutive titles at the 2020 Chuseok Games.

He dropped the first bout to Heo Sun-haeng, but won the second bout with a takedown. In the third, Heo scored a reversal and seemed to be on the verge of victory.

However, Yoon closed out the match with back-to-back takedowns in the fourth and fifth.

In the quarterfinals, Yoon got over the hump with a 2-1 victory over Noh Bum-soo (Ulju Guncheong), who holds the record for 18 takedowns.
